Can you believe that Christmas is almost here???? My Gosh! We are going to a family gathering in a few hours but I did sneak in some time to sew earlier today. I will have a bit of time tomorrow morning as well.

Sallie was chosen using a random number generator set from 1-82.

I have notified her via email and as soon as she replies with her address, I will mail that bunny out to her!!

It's been a little hectic this past week with social engagements and our last week of work before the holidays, but as of 4:30 today I am on vacation so I will have plenty of time to sew! Check back often for updates of my vacation projects, and have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!

Quilter's Blog-Hop Party with Give-Aways!

Yes we have a winner on THIS blog post :)

Happy 5th Anniversary to the Quilting Gallery and Michele Foster!!! To celebrate this anniversary, they are hosting a blog hop and give-away!! I LOVE give-aways, don't you?

Visit here to participate in the blog hop and share in all the fun and chances to win some goodies, or visit through the button on my sidebar!

I've chosen to give away a great pincushion, a Warren Kimble-style rabbit, made from felted wool. He measures 9"x10" and you can use him for a pincushions or just as a fun addition to your sewing area!

I have started thinking about sewing resolutions for 2013...after all it IS right around the corner! I would like to be more organized, and make more quilts for charity and also get more tops into finished quilts! For a chance to win my bunny, please leave me a comment and let me know if you have any quilty resolutions as well, or if there are new techniques you are thinking about trying for 2013. I am willing to ship internationally so this contest is open to all until Monday, December 17th 2012 when I will chose a random winner :)

Happy Holidays to you all and enjoy the blog hop!!!

Mystery Update and a Bit More!

I've finished Part 2 of Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt! I'm really loving the units we've put together so far!

Here's an "in process" pic

and here's my finished set of geese! Love 'em!

I've also finished 2 lap quilts within the last 2 weeks, both from free patterns available online! The first one is a Twisted 9 Patch from Mary Quilts and it was SO much fun to do! I have a large one planned for my own bed, as this one is a gift :)

This second quilt is also a free pattern from All People Quilt and is called Simple Sashing and Rectangles. I've previously made this same quilt with a white background and it looks totally different! My friend Michelle made one with a black background and I loved how it looked so much I had to make it again! This pattern is a keeper and I plan on making it several more times! This one is also a gift :)

Hope you are all enjoying the current Bonnie Mystery! I love her color choices for this one and am so excited to see how they all fit together into the finished quilt! I don't like to wish the week away, but IS IT FRIDAY YET??? lol

It's the MOST wonderful time of the year!

And it IS, it really IS! I love the holidays and everything that comes with them, including BONNIE HUNTER'S LATEST MYSTERY QUILT! This will be my 4th year participating in Bonnie's wonderful mystery and as typical of me, I am doing it in her colorway. I've also chosen to do as much of the sewing as possible on my beautiful Singer Featherweight, which was a birthday gift from Bill on my last birthday ;)

Here is my pretty girl and some of my 4 patch units...

And here are my fabrics, mostly pulled from my stash....although there might have been a little shopping done here and there to amend them :)

Lime Greens

Purples
And Turquoise!
and here are my finished part 1 units!! Man o man, is it Friday yet??? I am SO HAPPY that I only work until 11am on Fridays so I can get home early and work on the next mystery step!!

yup...I'm a Bonnie Addict...I admit it LOL

and thanks again Miss Bonnie for giving back to the quilting community in such grand style!

SO...are you playing along???

Shocking Scrappy Stars!

Where have I been, you ask? Well I haven't been incarcerated....and I haven't been blogging either! LOL

So I'll remedy the latter with a post about some SHOCKINGLY bright Scrappy stars that I've recently sewn up! I'm doing this monthly gig with Terry, my 2 BFFs Michelle and Peg and some other great gals...you can read all about it here and maybe join along with us! I've chosen a cheddar yellow solid for the background and I am thinking of setting them with alternating scrappy string blocks.

I LOVE my scraps, and had all the proper sizes for a 12" block already precut! So how could I not join in the sew-along fun!

I do have several projects that I've finished since February and will post more about them soon..I promise ;)

Until then, Keep Sewing!

Hope your day is filled with sweet sentiments!!

The January update!

And it's about time, wouldn't you say? LOL

January is off to a stupendous start for me, with 3 quilty finishes and 2 yarn-crafted items!

I finished the 12 of Hearts BOM from The Raspberry Rabbits and just love how it came out!

My second finish is the January Quilt Square Quilt along featured on Jo's Country Junction and  made from a Lori Smith pattern. Each month I will be doing one of these little gems, that finish up to 12" square! There's still time to join in the fun, so drop by Jo's, get the patterns and play along!

And my last quilty finish for this month is a Charm Party totebag made from Fig Tree fabrics!! I am HOOKED on these totebags...great to give as gifts and fun to make for yourself!
I don't have any pics of my 2 yarn-related finished for this month, but I will post those as soon as I can get Bill to take my picture..yes...they're wearables! I hope to continue this momentum in to the coming months and wish you all lots of quilty finishes for 2012 as well!!
